ABOUT US

OUR COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE

Wrestling is an inclusive sport that welcomes individuals of all sizes, from short and small to big and tall. It demands a high level of dedication and perseverance. At SCP Academy, we are committed to helping you meet these demands and develop essential qualities such as grit, resilience, and confidence. Through consistent effort and meticulous attention to detail, we strive to build athletes of character both on and off the mat. At SCP Academy, we believe in challenging ourselves and pushing our limits. We encourage you to embrace discomfort, persevere through adversity, and shine when the spotlight is on you. If you see our athletes in a fight with a bear, pray for the bear! At SCP Academy, we are dedicated to nurturing champions for life.

For those willing to commit, SCP Academy is a place where average is eliminated—and excellence becomes the standard.

Born and raised in South Louisiana, Anthony “Boobie” Smith grew up playing football before being introduced to wrestling by his 9th-grade football coach. Anthony is a 2009 graduate of East Ascension High School, where he compiled a 101–15 record and was a 3-time state place winner (3rd, 2nd, 4th). Anthony began his coaching career in 2018 as a volunteer with Ankeny High School. In 2023, he was hired as an 8th-grade assistant coach and was later elevated to a JV/Varsity assistant role in 2025.
